My child played around in the playpen as I was working 12-hour shifts, sanding the floor as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! All was beginning to fall in place, yet it was not quite done. I decided to take some time off from my vintage furniture and slow down to stay at home with the kids. It was exactly what I was looking for. In the course of a few months, the phone began to ring. I started receiving requests from people requesting for assistance with home improvements and interior design. The majority of them were people who had been through my house during furniture open houses! I started taking on some customers one by one working at my own pace but it wasn't too long before I had multiple accounts and was running a complete home renovation business. If you'd told me that my business would be the premise for a DIY Network show, I likely would have been astonished. As I reflect on the situation and think about it, I laugh.
