Zazie was born to a German cabinet maker in Berlin, Germany in 1991. Her father was an German Cabinet Maker who immigrated into the United States following the fall of Berlin Wall. Jennifer Aniston attended the same high school as Beetz. Beetz went to Skidmore College to study French after completing LaGuardia. Following graduation from Skidmore College Beetz was able to immediately begin auditioning and was offered the part as Van at Atlanta. Beetz, who was born in Berlin and was raised by the father of a German American as well as an African American mother who lived in New York, spoke both German as well as English at home. Zazie has been performing in theatres in the community and on stage in New york from the time she was a child. Zazie discovered that she liked acting when she was in the school. Zendaya was 11 when she was a vegetarian when she visited the slaughterhouse on an excursion with her father. PEOPLE have quoted her as saying: "It seemed awful to me when I saw all those animals being crammed in the slaughterhouse, waiting for their final deaths. This was the way I got my meat shocked me. The woman has since adhered to a vegetarian diet.
